Coordinate onboarding and offboarding equipment
Asset Management and the relevant catalog/request capabilities enabled; configuration and fulfilment permissions as appropriate.
Employee profiles describe the equipment categories and quantities needed for onboarding, offboarding or both. Catalog Items provide the requestable entry point; fulfilment links the requested work to actual registered equipment.
Before you start
Agree the profile scope, equipment categories, quantities, responsible fulfilment teams and return standards. An equipment category requirement is not a reservation of a particular asset.
Steps
- Configure an employee profile for ONBOARDING, OFFBOARDING or BOTH and add the relevant category/quantity requirements.
- Link the profile to the appropriate Catalog Item. Add configurable intake fields where the fulfilment team needs extra information.
- Submit the Catalog Item through the supported request flow. The profile expands requirements into category-specific Requested Items for fulfilment.
- Have the fulfiller review the person, category, quantity and available inventory, then select the actual equipment to issue or recover.
- Perform ordinary asset assignment or return actions so custody history reflects the equipment movement.
- Complete request work according to its own workflow and verify the physical handover, condition and any wiping/disposal obligations separately.
Expected result
A repeatable request captures equipment requirements and coordinates work, while actual asset records retain identity and custody evidence.
Important behaviour
The documented implementation is profile/catalog-triggered. Do not assume that disabling a user automatically creates return requests, retrieves equipment or completes offboarding. An approved or completed request does not itself prove physical return or secure wiping.
