Record outages and interpret availability

Use outage records to explain measured availability.

Before you start

Access to the applicable availability controls and configuration prerequisites where relevant.

Steps

1. Open the availability view for the relevant record.
2. Choose the period and check the displayed policy source.
3. Record an actual outage with the correct timing and context.
4. Review the outage list alongside the reported percentage.

Expected result

Availability can be interpreted against recorded outage events.

Important behaviour

An incident does not automatically become an outage. Overlapping outages and redundancy are limitations to consider when interpreting calculations.
