Manage configuration items and applications

Describe the components and applications that support delivery.

Before you start

Configuration Management enabled, CSM Full and edit rights.

Steps

1. Open Configuration Items to create an item with an appropriate class and environment.
2. For a service instance, review its application, region and deployment details.
3. Open Business Applications to maintain the application and its owner.
4. Review linked service instances.

Expected result

Configuration and application context can be used in service operations.

Important behaviour

An existing CI class is not freely editable in the current detail form. Business Application ownership is included in the latest documented implementation.
