Create and import assets

Build equipment inventory using individual records or a controlled CSV import.

Before you start

Asset Management enabled and asset creation/import permissions.

Steps

1. Create required models or identify existing ones.
2. Create an individual asset, or open Import CSV for a batch.
3. Map the CSV columns and inspect the preview and errors.
4. Correct invalid input before confirming the import.
5. Review the resulting inventory records.

Expected result

Assets are available for custody and lifecycle operations.

Important behaviour

Asset Management is independent of Configuration Management. An asset does not automatically create a CI.
